This film combines the two last specials into a 145-minute film, which was director Hayashi's original vision before production trouble had them split it into two parts

So we're going to have 3 versions of these specials, the TV version, Blu-ray version, and now this movie version lol. I still believe the original plan was a theatrical release, but something like maybe pressure from NHK led them to shift to doing it as TV specials.

I’m glad Hayashi finally got his dream of having it released as one film. The production committee will probably make some easy money from this too. I doubt it but I wonder if they’ll consider releasing it internationally later on as well
